A journey to discover the contemporary artistic heritage of the island is an opportunity to enrich the cultural baggage of new sensations. Do not miss The BOCS, Box Of Contemporary Space: the first “artist run space” in Catania, officially established. With the artistic direction of Giuseppe Lana and the technique of Claudio Cocuzza, BOCS is a versatile container, where inside the artistic productions interact at 360 °, a space left in the rough from the architectural point of view but rich from a point of view design of enormous potential.

Also to be discovered is the Paolo Brodbeck collection, made up of works by well-known contemporary artists, mainly from Europe, to which are added new productions by Sicilian artists. The Brodbeck Foundation was established in 2007 by the will of Paolo Brodbeck and is located in the heart of the historic San Cristoforo district, a few steps from the Museo Civico Castello Ursino, Piazza Duomo and Piazza Università.

Also not to be missed is the MacS of Catania, which is located inside the small Abbey of the Monastery of San Benedetto in via Crociferi, the baroque frame par excellence of Catania. In harmony with the beautiful setting that houses it and with the beautiful frescoes of the Church of San Benedetto, the MacS combines the architectural beauty of the eighteenth century with the modernity of contemporary art.
